Mountain biking is great
fun. It's safe, away from the traffic and you can cover great distances.
You may be tempted to compete - head to head to head against other
riders in cross country races, or with the adrenaline rush of downhill
racing. For those with greater stamina there are endurance events
too.
It's healthy, and relatively cheap too. Of course, you can spend a
small fortune pursuing your hobby if you wish, but provided your bike
is well maintained, you should be able to just about go anywhere and
do anything on it.
Both leisure riding and competition are covered in the articles here
- and I'd recommend that everyone gives both a try. After all, you'll
never know what you're missing or which you prefer until you try it!
